Hi,
is it still possible to sign up to virgin 360? There is no prompt to upgrade via my tv box? Do I need to call and upgrade?

You need to think of the change as a migration rather than an upgrade.
There are several features of V6 operation that are not (& will not be) available on V360, as it is a totally different operating platform. You also lose EVERYTHING you have saved on your existing box/boxes when you convert them.
Have a good read of this forum & decide if this is really the right move, as:
1) Migration is voluntary. The V6 platform is not obsolete & will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future.
2) Migration is a one way trip. If you don’t like it you can’t move back.
