Virgin 360 TV

Hi
Can someone maybe help me with a query regards the new Virgin 360 upgrade ?
I have set everything up all is working but for some reason randomly I lose sound for a minute or two , it comes back with a distorted sound for another minute or so before returning to normal . It’s only started to do this since we upgraded a day or so ago , but it’s just annoying when you lose sound every so often . Have switched off all devices and router for 30mins as advised . Can’t get through on phone and online help is not available to deal with the issue . Virgin has been great since I got it 2months ago .

If you have upgraded a Tivo V6 to 360 this maybe one of the bugs people are posting about when going from 4.27 to 4.28 software.

Am I lucky ? I have a Humax box that has updated to 4.28 and not seen any of the problems people are listing.

How do I know what box I have  ? 
Also can I update this myself ?

If you are part of the V6 box to TV360 software change pilot then you will have been sent new remote controls for the boxes and the V6 box will have been wiped and installed with the TV360 system.

If you were on the earlier trial you would have received new TV360 boxes to install.

How do I know what box I have  ? 

If you press the Home button and then go to settings, (or the cog wheel as some people say), info, then drop down to about, it lists manufacturer as well as software etc. If it's Humax it will say. I don't think they were available before October. Also the remote will have a key for voice activation.

Also can I update this myself ?

If you have a Humax 360 it will update itself. Also the above will tell you the software version.

The above answer is wrong, I believe.

If you have a V6, it is an Arris box. The Humax is Horizon, TV 360 only, can’t run TiVo software.

that is correct V6 boxes are Arris and can run Tivo and TV 360 Horizon software

The Humax boxes are the new boxes both Main and Mini boxes are made by them and can only run the TV360 Horizon software

I didn't say the V6 is a Humax box I was just trying to establish what box hafizahmed had.

Also the Humax box upgraded automatically from 4.27 to 4.28.

Looks like you have been hit by the 4.28 bug, not as bad as covid-19 we hope, apparently Virgin have a fix in the pipeline for this, how long the pipeline is, is anybody's guess.

You and many others are in the queue.
