First thing is there is no V6 Mini, it's a 360 Mini, V6's use's Tivo software and the 360 use's Horizon software so can't be used together.
So if the question is what's the difference between a 360 and a 360 mini box the answer is the 360 mini box has no hard drive so any recordings you set on the mini will use the hard drive on the 360 main box, both boxes require a coax cable connection and connecting to the network by either ethernet or wifi, main box preferred connection is ethernet cable.
