How do i update my virgin 360 firmwear to the new version?
On my status is says that disney plus is not working but there is no app on the app store. Was told i needed to update the box and i don't know how.

VM update the 360 boxes in batches, usually by area. The latest update was around 4/5 weeks ago to version 4.39
The updated firmware is usually sent overnight, and can stay on your box for up to 5 days before manually updating. You can sometimes force this update (if one has been downloaded) by rebooting the 360.
I have the same message regarding the Disney Plus app BUT it's a mistake of VM's. The Disney Plus app is only available on the Stream boxes

And as a very general couple of points - you don't need to update your box for any new SW or apps, it's all done for you by VM.
TV boxes aren't like smartphones or tablets where you go to an app store to download new versions, it's a "closed garden" setup where everything is pre-installed and updated automatically by Virgin Media.
