Transfer of "My Shows" from V6 to 360

Tuning in

I am contemplating an upgrade from V6 to 360. On previous box upgrades I have always had a new box and so lost all saved recordings. I understand with the V6 to 360 upgrade the box remains but software and remote are changed. Does anyone know if it is possible to retain/copy saved recordings when upgrading, or are they lost. If so, I would see this as a failing of the functionality. I have many recordings that I would like to keep and replay again. I think I know the answer, but thought I would ask just in case.

Hi @sjeyers

You will lose all recordings and series links - it's a completely different operating system and the box is re-formatted.

Don't think of it as an upgrade, or you may be disappointed, it is a change of Operating System like switching from Apple to Android. So you lose a lot of features as well as gaining (very few). In my opinion the losses far outweigh the gains, so I will be avoiding the change until it is compulsory and then I will need to decide whether I stick with Virgin or move to Sky, as my main reason for being with Virgin at the moment is the better TV box.

Thanks. As I suspected. I see this as a major failing and will stick with my V6 until I cannot or something comes along that meets this requirement.

Thanks. That is helpful. Like you I can now see no merit in changing to a 360, so will retain my V6 indefinitely.

....unfortunately, you wont have that "..... indefinitely" choice.

VM have moved away from TiVo so at some point, ALL customers will be switched over to 360 I would think.

There are no currently announced plans for any forced migration. Therefore all V6 customers are not currently being forced to migrate.

If and when the time for that comes, then no V6 user will have a choice.

I think I will be moving to V6 to fix the issue with On-Demand not working with my LG C1 due to the V6 software not being able to cope with the HDMI ......to be fair that is based on reading posts a few months back so happy to be corrected
