The Wheel (BBC1) - won’t series link TV360

I like The Wheel on BBC1 and would like to series link the recordings. For some reason both of my TV360 boxes won’t let me do this. It just says “Sorry we couldn’t do this for you, please try later.”

I’ve been trying for 3 weeks.

I don’t have problems with any other series link requests, just The Wheel. Anyone else having this problem or ideas on how to fix it?

I've just set up a series recording for The Wheel on my 360. 

The EPG hasn't populated for BBC One yet for next Saturday, but I'll recheck over the weekend to confirm if the series record has actually been set to include next weeks show.

Thanks. I’ve just had a another go and… it’s let me do it!

Not sure why but I have just changed the standby settings from Fast Start to Active Start, put it on standby and switched it back on 10 minutes later. Thought I would have another go and hey presto!

Well I spoke to some. Despite it letting me set up a series link it then failed to record anything.

So having tried again and getting the same “Sorry we can’t do that right now…” message I tried to record a single episode.

it failed to record it.

What has my 360 box got against The Wheel. Why won’t it let me record it?!

Sorry to hear of the difficulties you've faced when trying to set up a series link for The Wheel.

Do you experience any other issues with series links on BBC One?

@newapollo, can you possibly confirm if you replicated this fault on your 360 box, or were you able to record this successfully?

Sorry, it hasn't recorded. There is nothing to show the recording has failed as it doesn't show in the list of recordings or planned recordings.

I have Match Of The Day and Match Of The Day 2 both set up as BBC1 series links and both work fine.

The Wheel is an odd one. It won’t let me set up a series link (just apologises, says it can’t do it and to try later) and if I try to record a single episode it just doesn’t record it, even if it shows as a planned recording.

As a test I’ve set up two brand new BBC1  series links today (Doctors and Tokyo Vice) just to see if they work.

My BBC1 test series link (Doctors) recorded fine at lunchtime. So I can only think this is something unique to The Wheel as I’m not the only one to experience the problem 

I also checked advance recording settings for the programme and tried different options (record only new, record all, record new from series x…) but nothing made a difference. It refuses to record or set up a series link.

Do you have any more TV boxes that you may try on or do you just have the one?
If you do have more than one, does this issue happen on all of them?

I have two 360 boxes - a main one and a mini (slave?) one in another room. Failure to record / series link The Wheel happens on both boxes.

I’ve also noticed when setting up other recordings & series links on the mini/slave box that sometimes it doesn’t carry across the request to the main box unless the main box is awake or set to Fast Start.
