TV360 - 1080P video jerky on virgin channels

Anyone else experiencing jerky/choppy video panning on 1080p on virgin channels ? Netflix and Prime video are okay.

Try changing the match frame rate setting to "On"

Home>Settings Cog(Press OK)>Audio & Video >Match Frame Rate

Yes, tried that but didn't help. It's an old TV but handles 1080P fine from other devices like firestick and playstation.

Yes, same here. Upgraded V6 box.

Even more so on my recorded content playback, juddering and freezing picture. Also, pixelation and sound drop-outs.

VM just don't want to know, called them every day, over an hour each time, then promises of call backs which never materialize.

The same box when it had V6 installed was problem free.

Have you tried 1080i?  There shoudn't be any degradation in picture quality as that's generally what the native resolution of the broadcast HD channels is.  It just means that your TV will do the de-interlacing rather than the 360.

Yes, 1080i resolves the issue but is a step backwards imo. I know that the HD channels are broadcast in that resolution but why get rid of passthru for video streaming services like Netflix and Prime. That and the no option to recover deleted recordings makes me wish I had held onto TiVo instead of changing.

Hey Matt, have you called in to report this fault?  I see @Fox35 has, and I know it feels that it's not much help right now but we are looking into why some boxes are experiencing these video issues.  I agree, 1080i isn't good enough, thats a temporary workaround, not a fix.

Re: TV360 - 1080P video jerky on virgin channels

Hi, after reading other thread here on the 4.28 Software Version, it appears most issues are mainly happening on Arris ex V6 updated boxes.
I have 2 updated boxes, 2nd box running with 4.27 version which seems much better than my 1st main box with the 4.28 software, which is having the most issues.

No, haven't called it in. Don't have the time or inclination to discuss with the Virgin customer support.

Matt it will get addressed a lot quicker if you do.  If you enter your details when you first get to the IVR, or call from a Virgin landline, you will get through to the 360 team directly, and hopefully quicker!
