TV package added to Broadband

Emberone
Tuning in

Been with VM for over a year now. Broadband has been faultless. Not a single outage so thank you VM! Decided to not renew my Sky Subscription and go with Virgin Media for my TV. It doesn’t appear to be clear the install process. Apparently I’ll need an engineer to visit and install the Tv box? I thought I’ll only need an engineer visit if I needed cable pulling through or holes being drilled into my home? My white box is in my garage in the opposite side to my tv… I hope it doesn’t mean another hole being drilled. Does it not come with a splitter so the coax from the white box goes into a splitter which then splits off to the hub 4 and the tv box?

HI Emberone, thanks for the message and welcome back to the forums.

The engineer will bring the equipment with them when installing a new service, when a customer has a quickstart this will be delivered via the post.

Kind regards, Chris.

He will supply and fit the splitter and the cabling for the 360 box. He will also have an Ethernet cable to connect the box to the hub but if it's too short you will either have to provide your own cable or rely on WiFi.

So the coaxial cable going into my hub will be unplugged, then plugged into the splitter?

No, each box will need its own coaxial connection and VM will need to install whatever splitters are needed.

The TV360 will also need an Ethernet connection to the Hub for all the online bits, or wireless if not practical.

Yes, and the tech will sort out the lengths of coaxial cables to connect the splitter to the hub and box.

Will the engineer be bringing the TV boxes? I haven’t had them delivered. I was also meant to received my hub 5 but nothing yet
