Hi there,

If I have Wifi 6 around the house, do they need to install cables around the house to upstairs?

I am conscious of cables around a private rent house.

Thanks in advance,

Slim

Hi @sl1m_tc

You've posted in the 360 forum. If you want a 360 box installing it will need a VM broadband connection and a VM coaxial connection where it is situated. A coaxial cable cable is also required for internet with VM.

If you take out the Stream TV box it needs VM to supply the broadband, but since it works over IP it won't need a separate coaxial connection.

The only multiroom TV service that VM offers is V360. All TV boxes work on a broadcast system, so require a coaxial cable to deliver the live channels. Ethernet or WiFi is used for streaming services only, so for the boxes to function correctly, be it the main hard disk box or a mini box (maximum of 2 minis), requires both direct coax & a connection to your hub.

I already have Virgin broadband installed but was looking at the TV around the house. Just wondering if the cable would be installed if they can be working wirelessly.

Thank you in advance

You have two choices:

1) Virgin Stream. This is an IPTV product that works directly off of your Broadband & doesn’t require any other connections. It is restricted to one box per account, so can only be used on one TV. There are no recording facilities.

2) Virgin TV 360. This is a broadcast Cable TV product & as a result ALL boxes must be connected direct to the incoming coaxial cable. There is a main hard disk box, & you can have up to 2 additional mini boxes for other TVs. The main box can record programmes from up to 6 channels simultaneously. The mini boxes have a single cable TV tuner for live channels. Connection to your hub provides for inter box streaming of recordings, On Demand & app content.

You cannot have both Stream & TV 360 on the same account. It’s one or the other.
