So I get this offer to upgrade for free to TV 360, so I sign up, get a confirmation

Great news! You’ll soon be enjoying your free upgrade to Virgin TV 360.

a couple of days later I get an e-mail saying my next bill will be an extra £53.76 per month, what an earth is going on, fell like I  have been conned into signing up

Is that because any discounts you have are coming to an end and you are going to be paying the full amount, if that isn't the case I suggest you phone 150 from a Virgin phone and speak to retensions that's the I am thinking of leaving option.
