Subtitles

We have a new 360 box. I have found that by going to settings, I can put subtitles on. However this works only for programmes ,already made eg Friends.

If I put on a news channel, I still get subtitles but they are out of synch with the speech and run behind what is being said. Is there a way to remedy this?

Re: Subtitles

Hi @mtennant

Live TV isn't scripted as such so there will always be a delay with subtitles appearing onsceen.

Re: Subtitles

Am sure our recently replaced TiVo box did subtitles that synchronised with speech

Re: Subtitles

Hi @mtennant thanks for your post here in the Community, hoping you're well.

As @newapollo has mentioned here, it's not possible to have Subtitles synchronising with Live TV, purely for the fact they are being generated at the exact time as the event goes on, the Subtitles themselves are live in nature.

It really wouldn't be possible for any TV Box (including elsewhere) to do this for Live TV, with exception if the event was perhaps a repeat (but played as live) if that makes sense.

Even though this doesn't help, I hope it brings you some closure to this issue.

Many thanks
