Ordinarily I would advise that pixellating pictures tends to mean a signal fault. Only because you're the second person to post today reporting problems with STV+1, I'll ask @Ernie_C if they can check this channel for any wider faults - being Scottish-based.
I suspect that'll establish no issue and the standard advice can resume - but just to check first.

Just checked and STV+1 is OK on my TV 360 in EH54.
This issue may be a result of this?

A local service status check is part of my standard advice to all pixellation queries in that case...
First check the automated faults line for any existing issues in your area that could be the cause: 0800 5610061. If nothing's reported, assume VM don't know about your fault and ideally you'll need to call them.
150 from a VM phone, 0345 4541111 from any other phone - choose the options for "I have a fault with my TV service". Alternatively you can wait on here for staff to respond, which may take a day or so.
