Re: STB to iMac connection

Hello

I am afraid that the iMac's do not have a HDMI input so it will not be possible.

Re: STB to iMac connection

Straight input won’t work as anything connected must be HDCP 2.2 compatible (ie. The STB must see the connected equipment as a TV or it won’t unlock the encryption). Most converters are one way (USB C input to HDMI output) so will be useless anyway.

VM BB TV Landline. Vonage 2nd line. Freeview/Freesat HD, ASDA/Tesco PAYG Mobile. Customer since 1993

Re: STB to iMac connection

There are several questions on the web asking Apple how to use the iMac as an HDMI display.

Apple don't say this can not be done.

But in every case they just ignore the question and explain how to connect an iMac to display on a screen or via a projector.

The workaround maybe call a Samsung TV !
