I have been temporarily disconnecting the Powerline extenders between the TV360 box and hub 3, and also switching off the broadband hub 3. This is to investigate an electrical problem in the house. However as soon as I do this a large error message appears on the TV screen on all BBC channels (only) making them impossible to watch. I have tried removing the ethernet cable from the back of the 360 but this makes no difference. The only available settings are to use the ethernet or WiFi. Of course I can’t use WiFi with the hub off. Is there no way of watching BBC channels without an internet connection to the 360?

I believe this is caused by the lack of an internet connection for the interactive & red-button services on those channels.
TV360 & V6 boxes both need a working internet to fully function, V6's don't give this behaviour but I am unsure if there is a way of avoiding it on TV360.
Others who use TV360 may be able to advise.

Thanks for your feedback. It’s very strange that VM seem determined to stop us from watching BBC channels unless we have an internet connection. I had my V6 for a long time with no connection to the net – surely it should be our choice. If anyone else knows why the TV360 should be restrictive in this way I’d be very pleased to hear from them.

It might be due to virtually everything on BBC is linked to iPlayer so you get the option to watch from the start.
Edited to add; Just put Heat on BBC2 and unplugged the 360 from my Hub 3 and didn't get an error message.
Perhaps post a picture of the error message in case it's from the TV for some reason.

Hi
Just been having a play around with this and if set a BBC recording it seems to play OK if I remove the ethernet cable, but if I press back to the show all list I can only see one page of recordings, and if I press back again all the picture of my recordings have disappeared, I know the pictures are accessed by internet so I understand that.
If I go back to live TV and then press the Home button I get the same message as you and I can still go to recordings but only get the one page of recordings and the BBC recording still played, had to reconnect to the internet for my recordings page to refresh with all of my recordings, so I guess it's just how the recordings are managed and also linked to the TVGO app.

I have been trying some of the things that you referred to in your last post roy247. If I play a BBC recording and remove the ethernet cable it continues to play OK. Live TV is also OK but I can’t then go back to Recordings unless I replace the ethernet connector (or connect via WiFi). This is different from what you found, if I understood you correctly.
To summarise, if I disconnect the ethernet (and don’t make a WiFi connection) I can watch live TV but I can’t watch my recordings because I can’t select anything except Home. Once I start watching a recording I can disconnect the ethernet and continue to watch the same or other recordings although the thumbnail pictures have disappeared, not in itself a problem.
The question is, is there a way of going to Recordings without pressing Home or using voice control, which also seems to need the ethernet/WiFi?

I would say no there isn't.
