I just rebooted my Virgin 360 box (because it was having connectivity issues - images weren't showing in the UI) and having taken a bit longer than usual to reboot, I find that all of my recordings (and planned recordings) have been removed. I've also been logged out of most (but, bizarrely, not all) of my apps.
In the two years since I switched to 360, this is the third time this has happened to me. I'm starting to think that I can't rely on 360 as somewhere to store recorded programmes. Maybe I just go back to bittorrenting shows I want to watch.
I see that other people here have had similar experiences. Do the VM engineers know what is going wrong? Are they close to being able to guarantee the longevity of my recordings?
I know enough about the system to realise that there's no way to retrieve the lost recordings. I guess it's kinda freeing to have a completely clean disk again, but it's really not what I wanted.
I pay of lot of money for this service. I would be nice to be able to rely on it.

Hi @davorg
Welcome to the community forums
So sorry to hear that you have had issues with your set top box and your recordings.
We aren't aware of any known issues with the 360 removing recordings and clearing the hard drive in this manner. When you encountered the issue previously, what was advised and was a new box issued at all?

Hi,
I don't understand how you can be unaware of the problem. There are several posts on this forum about the issue.
I got a replacement box the last time it happened. But I didn't get any useful advice.

Hey @davorg,
Thanks for getting back to us, with this we would like to check have you looked into your settings on the 360 Box to make sure all auto delete functions are off, this could be causing the box to delete certain programmes and series links before you expect them to.

This wasn't "certain programmes and series links" being deleted. It was everything. I have no auto-delete functions turned on. I think TV 360 is a buggy system that is missing functionality that was available on the old Tivo-based system. I've decided that as soon as I'm out of contract, I'll be switching to Virgin Stream instead.

Horizon V360 is a server based system designed for cloud recording. The recording list is held on the server & the equipment you access the system gets a copy of what is on the server. So even with your recordings residing on a local hard drive, communication with the server at VMs headend is essential for normal operation. Virgin Stream runs on the same system, but does not currently have any recording facility. There is a strong possibility this will change in the near future, as VMs current radio frequency based Broadband/TV infrastructure is replaced with a totally IP based system.
