Re: TiVo 6 to TV360 downgrade

We were also told the TV360 was the latest TiVo but it just freezes up daily, the sound turns off randomly, it fails to record regularily and it has not (working) search functionality.

I've moved your post to a new thread.

Two things here.. fundamentally, TV360 is not TiVo. It is completely different software.

Having said that, if you can give some more details on your issues we may be able to help on here. You may have a fault with your kit.

Hi H4nny,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for posting.

I am very sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your 360 box, we will do all we can to help.

To begin, can you please check that the cables running to and from the box are secure and without damage?

Also, if the box is consistently powered up, can you please try a reboot of the equipment?

Thanks,

Nat

All cables are secure and the box is restarted daily on a timer.

I was told the 360 is a TiVo and that an engineer would visit to help us. I explained it might just be our dislike of the interface and our expectations that it was an upgrade on our old T6 box so was worried I would be charged for an engineer visit but I was assured I would not be. Then the day before the planned visit someone phoned and convinced my wife we would be charged if there was no fault so she was coerced into cancelling the visit.

Now whenever it fails to record or the sound goes or it freezes we both blame each other.

Please just take this useless paperweight away and give me a functionless dumb receiver.

Sorry Kath, not sure what your crystal ball is tuned to but we haven't spoken to anyone since being told we would be charged for a visit if there was nothing wrong with the 360 boxes and bullied into cancelling.

Since I can see from this thread that it's not just a problem for us and that the boxes are just buggy, unreliable and a huge step backwards for VM - we will just have to keep missing programs when they randomly stop recording series or they delete recordings before we have watched them or mess up the sound whilst we are watching or do any of the other annoying things we now have to live with.

To confirm, have you had a replacement box for this?

The 360 has a new trick... we recorded All Creatures Great & Small last week; it appeared in the list of recordings...until tonight when we wanted to watch it.

Please tell me how to get rid of this useless downgrade to the T6 and go back?

No. We were told by the support person we would not be charged for a visit (I have the transcript of the chat) but then we were called by the engineers and told we would be charged so my wife felt bullied and cancelled.

There is no going back to V6 once you've migrated to TV360, the conversion is Irreversible.
