Switched set off with remote
Came back tonight and No signal
Engineer due Monday
Possibly stating the obvious, but are you sure "no signal" isn't just your TV not being set to the correct HDMI input?
Errors generated by VM TV boxes usually have an error code/number with them, and you've not mentioned one.

Embarrassed to say I knocked the power switch off on the back of the box

It happens to the best of us. My brother in law is always doing that, or complaining he has no sound when he's forgotten to turn the speakers on.
You might want to cancel your engineer appointment on your online account and clicking My Account and Order tracking.
