I received my new box yesterday and straight away it wouldn't record, it said "we couldn't find hard drive" if you don't have a have a box with storage- you cant record" I have logged this with Virgin who said there is a known problem with new 360 boxes and it should be fixed within 5 days ??
Then tonight I have tried to pause a program and it only paused it for 3 minutes, whereas the old box was for an hour ? so would this be down the hard drive not working ??

If you only have a mini box you need it replacing for a 360 main box with hard drive, the mini box is used as a secondary box to the main box and relies on the main box for recordings, any recordings set on the mini box are recorded on the main box, also if you want to pause for longer than 3 minutes on a mini box you need to press record so it record's on the main box and then you watch as a recording.
If you do have a main box and a mini box the main box needs to be set to fast start or active start so the mini box can wake it up if it's in standby.
