New Splitter

Hoping one of the VM techs can sort me out with a new splitter. Got a 360 and Broadband but part of my new deal was an additional box  but the current splitter only has two connections. I have no issue in running cable but dont want to get a cheap splitter that will cause me problems.

Thanks in advance

Hi there @BrianW65, welcome to our forum and thanks for your post.

Sorry to see your current splitter does not have enough connections for both boxes. I have checked our system and can see you have spoken with the team since posting this. Were they able to arrange this for you?

If not, please let us know and we can assist you further.

Regards

Nathan

There was an engineer do to come tomorrow for a phone issue but that has now been put on hold while they investigate a local issue.

If u could send a splitter that would be great

VM won't send things like this out for two reasons.

VM uses specialised cable which prevents ingress from Freeview TV, DAB radio & Mobile phone services, all of which would cause havoc on their local network. Under no circumstances use your own cabling.

Adding more cable & splitting the signal further will require a signal level adjustment in the street cabinet outside or you will likely have service issues.

You might need more than another splitter, the only place you would normally use a splitter is between the incoming coax and the hub and 360 box. Another box needs a cable run to the second boxes location using Virgins specific coax cable which would require a engineer to install.

Hi BrianW65, thanks for the message and sorry to hear that you are having issues with the service.

I have checked the system and there doesn't seem to be an issue at present, can you confirm  if this is the case?

Chris

Hi there Bukko25,

Thanks for posting your issues and welcome back to the community.

Just for further clarification on this, with the wires you already have are you unable to swap the Hub's for a working service?

Let us know,

Kain
