New 360

I have a new 360 box and have to say it is a complete letdown. Apart from gaining voice control which for me is just a gimmick it is worse in just about every way compared to the v6. Are there going to be immediate improvements or can I  just reinstall my old boxes?

Re: New 360

You could further provide feedback on what you believe is to be a set back..

Re: New 360

There are threads around the forums explaining what the 360 box does at present - switching from the old V6 software to the new 360 hardware will be a disappointment for most at this time.

It is a new product and most features are still to be added.

Your old V6 boxes will be disabled in you've enabled the new 360 software.

For starters in no particular order.

<span;>Can't create a wishlist

<span;>Can't edit series links

<span;>No suggestions

<span;>No thumbs-up

<span;>No mini screen apart from in guide

<span;>Mini screen is too small

<span;>No mini guide other than channel you are on

<span;>Mini guide does not disappear on its own

<span;>Can't skip to other channels in mini guide other than scrolling through

<span;>Bringing up information now requires two button presses

<span;>Changing subtitles on/off requires 5 button presses instead of one

<span;>Going to recordings now requires 5 button presses instead of one

<span;>Fast forward/backward does not skip back any more when you resume so have to rewind back.

<span;>Cannot skip 15 minutes forward/back on recordings

Re: New 360

A lot of features are to be added later - you've purchased the product too soon as a replacement for TiVo - but to answer just a few:

Turning subtitles off/on - press MIC and say "Subtitles on" or "Subtitles off"

To go to recordings - press MIC and say "Recordings"

To skip forwards/backwards 15 minutes in recordings - press MIC and say "go forward 15 minutes" or "go back 15 minutes"

Re: New 360

Hello

To further add if you have installed the v360 box I am afraid that you cannot go back to the v6, support can not even downgrade your account.

Re: New 360

You say above....

"Turning subtitles off/on - press MIC and say "Subtitles on" or "Subtitles off"

To go to recordings - press MIC and say "Recordings"

To skip forwards/backwards 15 minutes in recordings - press MIC and say "go forward 15 minutes" or "go back 15 minutes"

Not everyone will be able to use speech commands, my wife for example, because of disabilities.... so the forward thinking technology leaves people behind.. quick shortcuts to popular features are a must not 5 key presses where as the v6 has one... again this sort of thing was not mentioned when they phoned me up to upgrade and I asked lots of questions with no replies given other than I would get a call back with details... still waiting a month later but I will not be taking the new box, ever by the sound of it.

Re: New 360

It is not an 'upgrade' - it is a change in the software you currently use.

Don't expect an upgrade at this time - just a new and quite different system.

Re: New 360

....hmm, I was initially excited for this but it seems it has more issues than what its worth!!
