Multi Room Setup

I am considering moving from Sky to Virgin and taking the Ultimate Volt package

I have spoken to advisors on the phone and the chat but can't get a clear answer to how the multi room is set up

I have 3 TV's that I will look to hook upto

The first will be next to the incoming cables from outside and where the WiFi router will be situated and will have access to the existing house coaxial cabling

There is a coaxial junction box in the loft that feeds the other TV's in the house

For the additional boxes can I just use the exsiting coaxial cables or do I need some other Virgin cabling installed around the house

If Virgin need to install something are they just using the existing cabling but having a different access point for the TV

The last thing I am looking for is further cabling around the house that is not behind the wall

TIA

All VM TV360 boxes require two connections.

1) A direct connection to VMs coax cabling.

2)  A connection to your VM hub via WiFi or Ethernet.

Can you use your own coax? No. VM shares it’s radio spectrum with Freeview, DAB radio & Mobile phone services, all of which will directly interfere with their network if they ingress. Hence they only permit their own specialised coax & CATV standard connections to be used. There will be a termination box on your outside wall where the drop from the cabinet can be split for external & internal distribution.

Thanks for the info

As the existing coaxial cable is not used does that mean that virgin media will need to install cabling inside the house so that the multi room boxes can be used ?

has anyone had this done and do the put the cable behind the walls or on skirting etc

how do they link the main incoming box to the cabling, do they go through the roof trusses

how do they make this work in a flat

i am still not clear in my mind how this is all setup

cheers

Your install will have a two hour slot. From the external drop box they can wire externally & create additional entry points or wire internally. They will not install anything above 1st floor level, as install techs are not heights trained or insured to work at height. You can however lift floorboards or install pull ropes if there is appropriate trunking available in walls etc.

Thanks for this

Looks like I’ll just stay with SKY, don’t want cables being run around the house

Cheers
