Hi I have issues with the sound isn’t aligned to the mouth movements on one of my boxes. I have recently upgraded to TV 360 and is has improved slightly but still I have the problem, I use the HDMI for sound transfer, I have replaced the cable, does anybody else have this issue, I am convinced there is a problem with the TV 6 box?
There was a discussion on this in another topic - the conclusion that a few of us came to is that it's the 360 box's upscaling that's causing poor sound sync for 5.1 channels.
The V6 box displayed the same behaviour, but had the option to simply pass through the picture at whatever resolution it came in on (typically 1080i) which resolved the sound sync issues.
The 360 box doesn't have that option, even the Automatic option automatically upscales to whatever resolution your TV supports, and this leads to sound sync issues. The only reliable way around it is to disable Dolby audio which forces everything into stereo - not ideal.
Virgin need to update the software on the 360 box to provide the same functionality as the old V6 boxes, then the issue will be resolved.
