Minibox

Hi, I have a mini box installed in another room that I can watch for a 10 mins or so before it seems to reset and go back to the welcome screen.

I have checked all connections and moved to another power socket but still the same thing. It does this all the time making it unwatchable

Any ideas?

Hi Servo123,

Try swapping the main box with the mini to see if the fault follows the box.

That should determine if it's a box fault or a signal fault.

You could also try a  factory reset of the mini.

Go to Settings (the cog at the end of the Home menu) > System > Factory Reset.

With the 360 you won't lose your recordings as it's not a complete factory reset, however you will need to sign into apps such as iPlayer and ITV Hub again.

Out of interest, watching live TV? Or OnDemand/streaming?

Not that it makes much difference - a box that's restarting almost certainly has a fault.

Agree with japitts if the mini is going through the full reset screen it sounds like a faulty mini or power supply, I wouldn't have thought  a quick glitch on the power would couurse the problem but you you could  always swap the psu between boxes.

If it doesn't happen with live TV and it's recordings from the main box, then make sure both boxes are set to fast start or active start.

If it's streaming then that's another problem. One step at a time.

It is on live TV.

I will be watching then it goes black and all the welcome messages start to appear

Sounds like a faulty box to me. Signal faults should generally cause picture breakup and/or channel loss, if your box is frequently rebooting then something's wrong.

Hi 

I swopped the PSU with the one from the main box and this resolved the problem.

Do I contact customer service for a replacement psu?
