Minibox starts by itself if router is restarted

Hi, is anyone else having this issue? Whenever the VM router restarts (Hub 4), it switches on the mini box by itself and also the tv on (as it is configured to switch the tv on). Its been a shock that we have been in deep sleep in the middle of the night the tv switched on. 

Happened twice before i experimented and discovered the reason. Called VM and they could not figure it out and changed the mini box. But the problem persists.

This sin't something we are aware of, have you tried changing the settings to stop the TV turning on.

Thank you for your message. That will not help as it will not stop the mini box being switched on. That setting is only for the TV.

Thanks for coming back to us on this one. 

I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. The internet connection only provides a connection to the mini box so it would not cause the box itself to turn on. 

It's possible that if the mini box is in a sleeping state then it may be 'waking' the box but it shouldn't affect the TV. 

Are you able to unplug the mini box over night to stop the TV from turning on?

Well, it does cause the mini box to switch itself on whenever the router is restarted. It happened with the Hub 4, and i got a Hub 5 on monday and restarting the Hub 5 also switches the mini box on. 

Are you suggesting that i switch off the power to the mini box every night and then on every morning?

That is unusual as it shouldn't be doing that. 

Would you be able to test having the box off for 1 night and seeing if it stayed off. Then the next night trying your normal routine to see if any changes?

I have tried this. If its off from the button at the back it stays off ( no surprise) but if its on standby it starts if the router reboots.

I can see the forum team are on this but I do have a question, why is your hub rebooting / restarting in the middle of the night ?

Dont know, software updates? To test what was happening, i turned the router off and on, and realised that the router is causing this. But only to the minibox the main 360 box is unaffected.

Thanks for coming back to us on this. It's certainly strange and not something we've seen before. 

I've fed this back to the team however for now, turning the mini box off at the mains over night should stop the box from coming on.
