I've just seen a google article from Virgin Media Ireland advertising a virgin tv 360 mini box that is completely wireless and does everything a main 360 box does. Is this the case.

It's like sky Q then. I guess the existing boxes could do it via a software upgrade.

This forum is for Virgin Media UK, VM Ireland is a different group company. TV360 miniboxes in the UK have the same connectivity as TV360 masterboxes, but don't have hard drives for recording.

I think you will find it is the Virgin Stream box.

The VM Ireland website says it has recordings, it must be cloud based if it does as the UK version does not have that feature.

It could just mean catchup.
Sky advertise Sky Glass as having recording despite the fact that it doesn't have a hard disk, so it seems the term is employed with some flexibility (or outright lies, depending on your opinion)
