I had a scart connection before in the TiVo box but there is only a round scart socket. What is the spec for this?

Im sure ive read before that the socket isnt activated.  You may have to go down an HDMI splitter route and get an HDMI to scart converter.

Hi @godfreyrobin

@jamesredfern is absolutely correct. The scart out socket isn't supported, only an HDMI connection.

If your TV isn't HDMI enabled then you would need an HDMI to scart converter to use the 360, and this wouldn't provide the best quality picture.

Also you can only record on the 360 hard drive due to copyright protection.

Info below from the TV section on  https://www.virginmedia.com/tv/virgin-tv-360

Virgin TV 360 Box: Minimum of M50 Fibre Broadband required for operation. Boxes require a HDMI cable to connect to your TV.

No box after the TiVo has a SCART socket. I strongly suggest that you get a TV which is at least full HD (with a resolution of 1080p), although 4K is better, and it will have an HDMI input to connect to your 360.

I suspect the op has a decent enough TV. It's the DVD recorder he wants to connect.

Hi @jamesredfern

Great minds think alike?

That's what I thought too, which is why I said, 'Also you can only record on the 360 hard drive due to copyright protection.'

Oh right, just read the title. Unfortunately I've found HDMI to SCART converters to be unreliable and have given up on this. We are in an age where we are at the mercy of the VOD providers. If I especially want a TV show or film I buy the DVD or Blu-ray if available.

Just had a Virgin technician visit over newly installed 360. Reckons no one else has ever asked about the SCART out socket. I want to connect to kitchen TV with the same SCART cable the old V6 did. He thinks there will be no harm to box if I can get the correct 9 pin DIN to Scart cable.  Has anybody else tried this?

Give up. It won’t work.
