Controlling tv audio or AV amp audio?

During the setup of 360 it paired automatically to the TV. The volume control on the remote controls the TV volume. However, I use an AV amp so don't use the TV volume.

I see that I can pair the remote to control the AV amp as well.

My question is that if I do that what happens when I use the volume control? Which volume does it control? Can you choose?

I don't want to try it in case I can't unpair it.

When you have paired the amp you will get a Volume keys control option under Audio & Video in Settings, you can select the TV or amp.
