Amazon prime 4k

I'm just wondering if UHD is supported on the amazon prime app on the 360 box as all it ever says is HD in the bottom bar while streaming UHD content, if I use the app on my TV it says Ultra HD at the bottom.

Hi tango30,

Is the bottom bar you are referring to the one you see when you press pause in the app ?

I have just put The Mauritanian on, (first one on my list) and if I press pause it says UHD and HDR and also get the HDR logo top right on my TV when it starts.

Yeah the progres bar when you press pause, it never says UHD just HD even when streaming 4k movies or series.

Hi,

As I just said I have just tried The Mauritanian on prime and got UHD and HDR showing on the bar.

Are all your cables hi speed V2.0 or V2.1 and HDMI input on the TV HDCP 2.2 compliant.

Yes all cables are high speed my TV is 4k displaying 3840×2160 50hz, I have 1gb fibre broadband and my ps5 runs in 4k it just seems to be the prime app on the 360 box that won't display 4k. I'm going to try restarting the box to see if that works.

The status can be HD for a Ultra HD film while the stream is building up.

You may have to wait more than a minute before the stream is up to full quality.

But I don't see an issue as 'Ultra HD' is displayed where expected.

As a matter of interest do you get only HDR10? I ask this as my V6 dumbs down Prime Video HDR10+ and Dolby Vision to HDR10 and I have to use my Fire TV Stick 4K Max to get HDR10+ for The Mauritanian.

Hi Roger,

TV is a LG C1 so doesn't support HDR10+, it supports HDR10 Pro / HLG / Dolby Vision IQ (the pro is LG speak).

I think you would need someone with a Samsung or Panasonic to give you the best answer as they are the 2 main manufactures who support HDR10+ AFAIK, but I believe the 360 still only supports HDR.

It never seems to build up to UHD that's the problem, the 360 box says high speed connection in diagnostics and says UHD streaming is available, and even if the TV is displaying 2160p if the stream isn't UHD it will just display upscaled 1080p not true UHD.

Are you able to stream in 4K using other 360 apps such as YouTube or BBC iPlayer?
