Hi all,

just had my faulty 360 box replaced with another one (like to be reconditioned rather than brand new), and it’s making a high pitched whining/humming sound (but not in standby), a bit like the noise your fridge makes.

It’s constantly annoying as can hear it above TV, is this normal ?  Should these boxes be completely silent or do we expect some noise from the hard drive ?

Hi,

The box should be quiet, as you say the box will probably be a refurbished unit and you have been unlucky to have a box replaced with one that has either a noisy fan or hard drive.

You will have to phone Virgin on 150 from a Virgin phone to report a fault or wait for a forum team member to pick this up which maybe a couple of days.
