360 and Sonos Beam

I’ve been invited to “upgrade” my two V6 boxes to 360 but I’ve seen a number of threads here suggesting that there are issues when connecting the 360 to a Sonos Beam. Is this still the case? As some of the threads are old or incomplete I’m not sure if recent updates have solved the problem.

Personally, I had a lot of issues with the 360 and Beam (Gen 1), but I suspect the tv model that the TV360 is connected to may play a part. I had a Sony KDLXE900549 from 2017 which never played well with the 360 and Beam, with the TV constantly rebooting and sound often coming only from the TV speakers when I switched them on. I upgrade to a Beam Gen 2 with the same Sony TV model earlier this year but the same issues continued with the new Beam.
I got so fed up with this that I have recently upgraded to a new LG C2 tv and the issues no longer occur. Well at least over the last two weeks anyway!
Bear in mind that the TV is always the "go-between" the 360 and the Beam so will have some part to play. Plus using a TV with eARC rather than just ARC may also make things better. Well that is my new experience with the LG anyway.
Obvs, whether you should upgrade is down to you but bear in mind you can't go back to TiVo after. Despite all the sound issues I had, I have no regrets in upgrading to the TV 360 for the past 18 months.

Any updates on this? I too am hesitant to upgrade the system if it downgrades the audio.

Not a beam, but I have an ARC and it works perfectly with the 360 box, I upgraded a month ago. But I also have a fairly new LG TV

Hi Philthep0wer,

No help with the Sonos but I changed last year to a LG C1 and LG soundbar using HDMI-eARC and have  no problems.

I upgraded to TV360 when it was first released and have not had any issues with my Sonos Beam.

I have a Sonos Beam2 connected via HDMI to the arc HDMI port on my Samsung TV and all works just fine but I did have to change the audio output on the 360 box to PCM 5.1 HDMI only, via the audio & video setting in settings.

I am having issues with my Beam 2 and surround setup. Just had new install last week. I’ve changed resolution to 1080i and this sorts the TV sync out but the apps on the box is horrific. Using an LG c8 oled. Never had any issues with any other device so I’m obviously annoyed. I’ve seen promise of updates but these posts look old so I’m not sure anything is being done. If perhaps a moderator could weigh in here, it would be useful.
