virgin mobile

i live in south west cornwall...hayle

i cant get my email to sync nor how to log out and in to check the password is ok

it went when the storms hit...is that valid

sorry if this is another complaint but i couldnt find a similar one on the sit

i dont need any compensation

The stormy weather wouldn't have affected your email password/login, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Who is your email with? - Are you able to check your login details with the provider? It may be worth checking your login details on another device and/or change your password and login on your phone again.

the email provider seems to be google but i cant find a log out/in place on my phone...

i did change the password recently and so i want to check if it is that...i will check the apps again to see if google is there..

thanks for the reply...any other help welcome.

this did happen a while ago as well but seemed to sort itself?

its google, and i have now reset the password...

i sent myself an email with one letter as the message and it got picked up on the laptop ok but so far nothing back to my phone

also i sent am MP4 video from my phone to my laptop but it hasnt arrived...i did send one a week ago same size...

Moto E  Google Email Exchange

virgin sent me a new sim card which i fitted and was successful recently

and as i said earlier i changed and re logged in to google with the new one..10.02.20

on my phone i enter settings/accounts/exchange/my email address/ and get

calendar         last synced 08/02/2020    not successful

contacts                          ditto                            ditto

Email             last synced 11/02/2020         successful  ( i also did the phone keypad CHECKIN and got 'Checkin succeeded'

note at bottom of the screen

"Sync is currently experienciing problems.  It will be working again shortly"

its a few days now....any ideas what else i can do,please?

Hi mrcrow,

 

I'm sorry that you've been having trouble syncing some of your accounts.

 

It sounds like it may be an issue with your Google account, rather than your SIM. Have you tried reconnecting your Google account within your mobile's settings? As you've recently changed your password, you may find that certain apps etc need reauthorisation.

i have changed to a new password on Google and logged in successfully

i unsync-ed the account and then re logged in with the

exchange account

the results were

calendar and contacts...not sync-ing

email..sync ok

"footnote on this account "sync is currently experiencing problems.  it will be working again shortly"

Google account

both my email accounts are sync ok

WhatsAp account

Sync ok

email on my laptop is working ok...hope you can help

From the error message received for the sync errors it may be on the email providers side as all other functions have synced ok form what you have said.

 

Have you checked for any known issue with the mail service mrcrow?

something has happened to improve the situation....on the google end

i went over the exchange account, account settings, my email account settings, server settings/incoming settings..server EAS outlook.com

i logged in using the google password and my email address and got and re- entered the sync setting arrows..

email then became alive...

so whatever caused the problem was solved by resetting the server settings..

hope this makes sense as it worked ok

ps whatsapp was updated today as well and took me a half hour to find out how to do that one!!
