very ppor signal /"phone switched off" when it is not

The signal when at home, never good, has pretty well vanished.

Outside it is very unpredictable eg zero at the doctors, Puewell Christchurch, "phone switched off" at Sainsbury ... At the same time and same places my other phone (on EE ) works just fine. I don't want to chat on option 1 I tried it never again.

I am seriously considering shelling out and wrapping up this contract for all the good of it.

Possibility you have been migrated to Vodafone. If so there is a fault reported in that area

Re: very ppor signal /"phone switched off" when it is not

No it is def on Virgin.

I finally got hold of CS this morning ( after receiving threats re fraudulent use, horrible rap music ).
VM are sending a new SIM which might improve matters. More likely the ongoing "rationalisation" of access points is the reason.
VM also suggest UG the phone to one with WebCalling. Fine if they will cancel the year outstanding on the contract.
The Vodaphone deal is as dead as a dodo VM are going to use the O2 network.

Virgin have no network of their own. They used EE but are actively changing over to Vodafone. That's why I asked.

Using O2 is some way off.
