sim swap scam

My phone may have been compromised during a recent scam, and my credit card company advised me to find out from my phone provider (Virgin) if I needed to do anything to guard against the scammer asking Virgin to swap out my sim. Am I safe, or do I need to take action please?

Re: sim swap scam

You certainly need to think about changing your passwords and memorable information for your account.

However, as they have your number, changing it would be the best option.

Re: sim swap scam

Hi RussMc,

Thanks for using the forums to get this issue with your security looked into, I am sorry if this has been causing some concern. I would be more than happy to look into this for you, I can update your password and give you a new number if you wish.

Please let me know if you'd like me to help you do this, or if you've already got it done with another team that's perfect too!

Thanks,

Megan_L
