when i first put the sim in i wasn't prompted to. i've tried since by going to mobile data and sim settings, then putting in 7890,

but still no service, only now when i switch the phone off and on it now says requires sim code, which i put in but still no service,

though i can access wi fi in house. sorry, but i'm useless with tech

It sounds from what you've replied, the SIM isn't active. 

 

Please follow the SIM activation process and let me know how you get on

ive tried this. what happens is i switch  phone off then back on, enter pass code

for phone, then sim locked screen comes on so i enter 7890 click ok, but still get no service

in top corner. i tried switching flight mode on and off, but no joy.

Thanks for coming back to me. As per the link I sent, it sounds like it's on the way through. It can take upto 24 hours but usually a lot quicker.

thanks for getting back to me. i hope so, but as i say, i've tried this yesterday. is there a number i can call, i'm going to buy a landline handset tommorow.

failing that i'm boxing it back up and sending it back and going to tesco.

We can attempt to activate the SIM from this end but will need to pass security with you first.
