I've been using my Nokia 1100 for many years now quite happily. For some reason, I got a new SIM card in the post today. Anyway, I inserted it and got a message "SIM card not valid" on an otherwise blank screen. (Yes, the phone is fully charged and has plenty of credit!) I waited the 10 minutes as asked in the letter.and nothing happened. There was no request to type in any unlock code. So I've reinserted the original SIM card and everything is the way it was before.
If they've sent me an invalid card, how do I get them to send me the correct one? (There doesn't seem to be anyway to email Virgin Media about this).
DOES ANYBODY FROM VIRGIN MEDIA ACTUALLY READ THIS FORUM?
I tried phoning them but after enduring 15 minutes of ghastly screeching pop music on their answer machine, I gave up.
To repeat my problem, I did the recommended unlocking procedure on my Nokia 1100 with the + p w # symbols and unlock code from their letter and I got "code error", then "please insert SIM". So I've returned to my old SIM. Now I'm getting Virgin Media texts saying please install your new SIM. I've tried texting back that it doesn't work but there's no.source phone number to send my text to!!!
I can only assume they are so desperate for money that they want to steal my £50 phone credit and drive me into the arms of another provider.
