Was on a rolling contract for the past few years, was really happy with the 4G speeds. Took a 2 year contract again about 4 weeks ago and now the Data speed is really slow and intermittent (unusable!). There are other mobile devices with virgin mobile in the house too. they are still absolutely fine!

Sounds like you have been transferred onto Vodafone. There have been some complaints about poor speeds after this happening. At this stage it is hard to say who is at fault. Virgin or Vodafone. However, I do know of one case where the Virgin customer has moved and had poor speeds where their partner with Vodafone direct is OK.
