need to send or receive sms to mobile phones in usa, whilst in uk.

If you have a spend cap on your account this may stop you from being able to send SMS's to the USA. Do you get an error message when attempting this?

Costs are 30p for each SMS you send to the USA. 

Other free messaging services (like WhatsApp or Facebook messenger for example) can be used instead.

absolutely correct, i had a cap of merely £10 a year? or month, or something. So i ve removed it, now unlimited. i'll see if that works now or in a couple of days.

To follow up, the quick answer at least UK to USA Send sms works without the cap. The fuller question is whether i can receive my sms or voice msgs that have been left on my US telephone.

My UK phone is an old android Samsung S3 Neo on VM billing.

My US phone is a Tracfone (LG android) on Tracfone billing, being renewed as i speak. May take awhile.
