It takes about a minute or so to start videos on YouTube when using mobile data (they are instant on WIFI). For that minute, it just spins and spins. I was previously on a Bell plan and never had this issue. The videos were very fast.
I read somewhere that Virgin might be redirecting YouTube traffic to their own servers where they download the video for you. It certainly would correlates with what I'm seeing. If that's true, it may save the company some dollars but it is certainly at the expense of the user experience, which is really bad.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas about what's going on here, and if there are ways to remediate it?
