Last week I switched from Three to Virgin Mobile. So far I’m disappointed.
I transferred my old phone number - I’ve used it for 25 years. But today I’ve found out that when I text people they are seeing the Virgin Mobile number, not my personal number. So it’s not transferred properly.
The way that iMessage works is that it doesn't automatically update the change of phone number dynamically, so to resolve this what you have to do is - 1) Logout of your Apple ID. 2) Turn off the phone and then back on. 3) Sign back into your Apple ID. This will force the change of phone number with iMessage and will resolve your problem. Regards Mike

696359Thanks Mike. I thought it might be something to do with that as the erroneous number shows on the iPhone settings. However I’ve just done what you suggested and the erroneous number is still showing.
