Wifi calling drops constantly

Hello,

Wifi calling on my iPhone 11 drops constantly causing me to miss or drop calls. I have gone through all the trouble shooting I can find online and none of it seems to help. The phone will say it has wifi calling enabled and then drop it for no reason. The wifi in my home is very strong and the connection is good so it’s not that. Also I previously had ee and we never had this issue so it’s something specific to virgin. Please help me get this sorted as it is causing me significant troubles.

thanks

Hi @spewal

Welcome back to the community.

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with WiFi calling at this time.

Do you get the drops outs when you are using your own WiFi network or when you are using your mobile data? You can check for any coverage issues that might be affecting your service here

Hello,

when I am using my own wifi network which is also virgin

The link you provided is exceedingly unhelpful. This is an issue with wifi calling dropping not network coverage.

Yes, the link was provided in case this was also an issue when using your mobile data as mentioned in my question.

Do you have a battery saving option active on your handset? If so please disable this and let us know if you have any further issues.

Battery saving is not enabled

Do you notice that you loose the WiFi connection when you are moving further away from the router or does the drop outs happen when your in the same room as the router? Does this happen when speaking to multiple different numbers or just the same number? ~CS~

The wifi connection itself doesn’t drop - only wifi calling. It doesn’t matter if I’m in the same room or on the move and it happens for all numbers. One second I will have wifi calling in the top left corner of my phone showing and the next  I won’t and it has nothing to do with the wifi itself. As I said, I previously had ee and the wifi calling worked without issue with the same wifi router, broadband package and phone so it’s clearly something on your end that’s not right.

If it was me I would check wifi calling out on a hot spot somewhere. (pub?) Depending what happens that then would limit it down to either the phone/sim or some sort of problem with the router.

If you are able to test a hotspot to see if you have the same drop in connection?

Are you also running any 3rd party router set up or VPN at all?
