Hi, im using an iPhone 14 Pro Max iOS 16.1 for reference. I’m just wondering if wifi calling is meant to show at the top of the screen next to the time as part of the UI?
My Previous phone was an iPhone 7 and it would say ‘WiFi’ at the top to let me know it was on.
I’ve attached a couple of screenshots to show it’s ‘on’ but not showing at the top.

Turns out it didn’t let me attach more that one screenshot. One should suffice anyway 😊

Hi @Keato thanks for your post here in the Community - welcome back!
It doesn't necessarily appear in the later iPhone models so not to worry at all that this isn't showing for you.
Is the WiFI calling working for you or do you need further support on this?
Many thanks

Cheers for the reply.
Odd thing is I was just on the phone to the Docs & I could hear them perfectly fine but they couldn’t hear me properly. Saying I sounded distant from the mic. I went outside the house and they could hear me better which suggests WiFi calling isn’t working otherwise the call should have been perfect.
wifi is definitely working in the house. So are there any other iPhone users out there with the same problem?
I figured if wifi calling is on it will take priority over using mobile signal.

Hi @Keato thanks for your reply.
It entirely depends on the connection within your house to be honest on this matter, you've mentioned that the WiFi is definitely working so does it appear to be working well?
Have you also tried this on a data-calling App such as WhatsApp for example as this should work in the same way?
Many thanks

Okay so I may have fixed the issue myself but time will tell so i'll keep the thread updated.
I changed a few things in settings during the week but the main ones changed which might relate to WiFi calling, IT can maybe help with this, were the following.
When connected to the Superhub I changed Automatic DNS to Manual & deleted the usual 192.168.0.1 to 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1
(unsure if this helped, again maybe someone in IT can help out)
The other setting i changed was WiFi assist in iOS's settings. I turned this off then all of a sudden the 'wifi call' text appeared top left on the lock screen and in Mobile Data menu under 'Network Selection'
I've attached some screenshots (hopefully more will attach this time) to show what's described above.
The only odd thing is on my mums iPhone 14 her network selection still says Virgin even though her 'WiFi calling' is switched on whereas mine actually says 'WiFiCall'.
Lock Screen is the one with one of my photos of a puffin I took. I've marked them up with arrows and circles.
My thoughts on why the WiFi calling seemed to have crap mic quality is perhaps because when WiFi assist was on during the call the iPhone would swap between 3G and WiFi thinking the WiFi was not stable (even though in my house there seem to be NO blackspot for WiFi). The drop in my microphone for others listening to me was the actual swap between the abysmal 3G signal and the house's WiFi. I wouldn't imagine the change in DNS would affect a WiFi call but maybe im wrong.
Also If anyone is able to give me some insight as to whether VoLTE is functional as the alert that pops up when turning it on says the network has not been verified for VoLTE though VM's website says 4G calling is VoLTE.

Hey Keato, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry you are having some issues with your WIFI calling.
Okay so for WIFI calling to work all you needed to do is click the setting on which you have done.
Now personally I wouldn't have the VoLTE setting turned on any phones.
Please can you remove this and let me know if this changes anything? Thanks
