WiFi calling

I have recently joined Virgin Mobile and cannot get WiFi calling to work.

I have a Sim Free Samsung S20+ bought in the UK directly from Samsung. I have the option in settings to turn WiFi calling on but it won't work.

Can anyone help?

this is what the VM website says: are you up to date with updates? I know sometimes phones ship and there are updates ready to be installed?

: Samsung S9, S9+, S10, S10+, S10e, S20, S205G, S20+5G, S20Ultra5G, Note10, Note 10+ and Note 10+5G

All of these devices support WiFi Calling if they are bought directly from us. If you are using a device that was bought from another network, or SIM free, we cannot guarantee that it will support our WiFi Calling service. If your supported device doesn’t have the WiFi Calling option available, make sure you have updated the software to the latest version and reboot your device.

Yeh I'm fully up to date with updates. I already have the option in settings for WiFi calling it just doesn't do anything when turned on.

Are you running the BTU csc firmware?

You can check this in your settings, about phone, software information

In there, the service provider SW ver. 

It needs to show BTU. If it says XEU instead, you'll need to flash the Latest BTU firmware to get it working.

I believe so, my firmware under that section says...

It's an odd one - on Samsung devices with the right BTU version it should 'just work', certainly does on my S10+

In the Software information, what's the Build number?

So that is the latest build and the right variant. It should be working when you enable it.

It's a strange one, my partner has a S9 and hers works perfectly but no luck my end.

As they both use the same size SIM consider swapping them over and see what happens.

There have been cases where Virgin do not seem to have activated WiFi calling on some accounts. 

As you bought the phone direct they probably have you down as having a none compatible phone.
