WiFi Calling ?

I have tried searching for the answer.

I am getting poor signal at home. I thought/hoped WiFi calling would be the answer (perhaps it is).

I have an iPhone 8 and I have set up WiFi calling (Settings -> Mobile Data -> WiFi Calling).

Does this mean my phone will automatically use WiFi when I am at home?

How do I know its working?. I have tried to phone using it, but I can see no indication its via WiFi.

Re: WiFi Calling ?

Where it usually displays ‘Virgin’ as the network it should say ‘WifiCall’.

This sometimes needs to be activated by phoning customer services.

Re: WiFi Calling ?

Answer to my own question.

I used Virgin text message help (07533016422) Whilst it took ages I got the solution.

1) My SIM settings (as you said) had to be setup - I now have "WiFiCall" shown on my phone

2) I can receive and make calls with WiFi Calling (i did not realise you could receive them). This is great as I have a poor signal at home, but now I don't even need a signal. Basically the default is WiFi and cellular does not kick in until no wifi signal.

Re: WiFi Calling ?

Great news that you have it working.

Just a heads up that due to an issue with Virgin’s systems, whilst on Wifi calling you will most probably have an issue receiving texts.

There’s a well documented issue which has been going on for over a year regarding this.
