Re: When did VM start offering WiFi Calling?

Maybe it's coming soon but they accidentally updated the website too early

Re: When did VM start offering WiFi Calling?

Possibly, I checked my wife's iPhone, s/w up to date, no wifi option in the settings > phone.

Similar story on my Samsung s9+ again no option in settings

On my top pull down bar, I do have wifi calling selected, it's light blue in colour (so in limbo). Funnily volte is dark blue/active, but we know that doesn't work yet. I have a custom rom

Re: When did VM start offering WiFi Calling?

If you have an S9 or S10 you can try setting the switches manually. No difference between stock and Virgin firmware.

Re: When did VM start offering WiFi Calling?

If I remember right EE customers have to either phone in or switch it on in their account.

It's  not there by default

Re: When did VM start offering WiFi Calling?

The help page must have been there by 20/01/2020

https://www.4g.co.uk/virgin-mobile-4g-coverage-network-summary/

Looking at the page, it mentions at least apple, Samsung and Huawei devices, then goes on to say only samsung s10 variants are supported, when I know more devices than that are well capable of supporting it. And of course the usual disclaimer that if you didn't buy the device from them it might not work.

Another thing it does (sort of) mention is sending texts via wifi as well.

Also, it mentions samsung kies. Wasn't that superseded by smartswitch? Dunno I don't use either.

Looks like a soft launch to me, and not activated yet. Watch this space I suppose, and see if any mods have any inside information.

But, a move in the right direction.

Re: When did VM start offering WiFi Calling?

My S9 and my previous S8 had no problem handling Wifi Calling or VoLTE on 3. I'm dual SIM on the 9 and have a 3 PAYG in slot 2 working perfectly
