Please be aware of a scam text message I received earlier today.

Content : EE: we are unable to process your latest bill. In order to avoid restrictions please update your billing information via http://www.eebilling-updated.com
Cause for concern : I do not have a direct account with EE. My account is with Virgin Media.
I have alerted Virgin Mobile to this scam. The operator whilst helpful seemed unconcerned about the scam and didnt even want the details of telephone number that the text had come from when I offered it. They did however, check and made sure that my account was secure.
I appreciate that scam texts, emails and calls are sadly part of everyday life but I would have thought a little more concern should have been expressed when a customer takes the time to report an issue that could potentially affect the whole customer base.
