Virgin mobile causing problems

I've had problems for some time with my phone staying connected into my home wi-fi network.

I would get connected to my own wi-fi, then almost immediately dropped out, and "Virgin media" would connect, drop out and be replaced by my wi-fi which would repeat the cycle.

Out of frustration I disabled the "Virgin mobile" app, and the problem disappeared. I've now uninstalled the app.

Does anyone else have such a problem?

It's a bug they know about and are working on a fix.

If you do need the app at times when out and about you can install the app and then Force Stop the app from running in the background when at home.

At the back of my mind I seem to have read of this problem before.

Can't remember the answer but it was definitely something to do with how the app is working

Hi, and thanks for your reply.

I don't think the app was working anyway. When out and about, local hotspot/hubs were identified, but that was it. No connecting into those hubs at all.Fortunately, I have an unlimited data contract, so it was no big deal.

It's surprising that the app hasn't been fixed by now though...

The problem with the Connect app dropping from your home (any saved) WiFi has been fixed in the latest version 11.8.73.1(2) released on 27th January 19.

Not sure why yours was not connecting when out & about though, mine has always automatically connected ok when close enough to a hotspot.
