I've been using an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 for a couple of years but due to failing batter I've acquired an unlocked Samsung A70
No matter what I try none of my families Virgin SIMs will work in the phone. The phone recognises the SIM but never seems to register on the network other than to allow me to make Emergency calls.
Interchanging the family SIMs between other unlocked phones gives no issue with them firing up.
Is there a compatibility issue with this particular phone, or is there something that needs to be done SIM-side for this particular phone?.

There are no compatibility issues with that phone.
Sounds like something is not right with the handset.... Where was it acquired?

Hi there ed00208,
Welcome back to the community.
As @enlli has alluded to, was the phone from ourselves or a different provider?
Let us know,

The phone was from a high street reseller - it's in great condition but it just wont register on the network; I'll take it in and get them to demo it working with another SIM/network first and then make a decision on whether it's a Virgin issue - thanks for your help so far!

No worries,
Do let us know the outcome, also has the SIM worked previously?

Just to update and close the thread - seems like the fault was with the phone; bought and tried a different A70 and all registered on the network immediately with no issues - so either faulty phone or not unlocked as stated when I bought it.
I managed to get a full refund originally so other than a week of my old phone struggling through I didn't lose out.
Keep up the great work on here - really helpful to have the forums so well supported.
