I currently use Virgin Mobile for 4g internet access from home (live in a rural area with terrible internet via old phone line)
I need to use a VPN to access my work server. So far I have been unable to get this to work using Virgin Mobile. I can use my Vodafone sim and access via VPN no problem.
Can anyone get VPNs to work with Virgin Mobile?I am going to have to switch networks if I can't get this working.
Sorry to hear of the issues that you've had accessing your works VPN. Have you been able to get this resolved since you last posted?
If not, please could you check the signal levels that you're having as this may be affecting you connecting to the network.
No I haven't got it resolved.
It isn't an issue with the network strength. Signal is fine.
I can connect to the VPN using another sim card on vodafone and that has a weaker connection.
The issue seems to be that Virgin blocks VPNs from working. It is very frustrating. I am going to have to move away from Virgin shortly if I don't get this resolved.
Do you have the parental controls turned on or off on your mobile account?
Thanks for confirming bbqforce10.
Just for absolute understanding. Do you mean your Vodafone sim works in a handset and supports the VPN in that handset that you cannot get your Virgin Mobile SIM to work in?
I'm not using any handsets, just a 4g router.
The vodafone sim works fine in the router and I can connect to my work vpn.
The virgin sim works in the router, but I cannot connect to my work vpn. The virgin 4g network isn't allowing the vpn connection.
I'd like to take a look at some things on your account. To enable me to do so, i am going to send you a private message. Please look out for the purple envelope in the top right of your screen.
