I have a Virgin Mobile SIM through the Virgin Media Ultimate Oomph package with 'Unlimited' everything...
However, when I go to create a 'Mobile Hotspot & Tethering' setup, my devices which I want to connect to this 'Mobile Hotspot' cannot connect?
The 'Mobile Hotspot' SSID is visible and I can add it, but when I type in the password and go to connect it reports:
"Could not connect to WI-FI network"
I have tried many devices and the same thing happens?
The SSID and password are correct...
If I create a 'Mobile Hotspot' on my other mobile [EE Network] and connect my Virgin Mobile to it absolutely fine without Issue.
Are there specific settings that need to be set / adjusted in the 'Network' settings of the Virgin Mobile Network?
Any advice and feedback is welcomed...

Please can you reset your network settings on your mobile phone, then check and see if you are able to connect to the Mobile Hotspot again. Please let me know how you get on after this 🙂

What are the correct APN settings for Virgin Mobile?
What mobile phone are you using Glenski3? I will get the reset instructions for you.
The correct APN settings for Virgin Mobile are:
Name: Virgin Internet.
MMS Proxy: 193.30. 166.2
MMS Port: 8080.
Authentication Type: PAP. If you're given a choice of APN types, select internet+mms, or if the keyboard appears, the * symbol.

Thanks for the info! To perform a network reset on your Sony Xperia 1 Mark II, please go into:
-Settings and System
- Advanced --> Reset options
- Reset network settings and Reset Settings
- Select Reset Settings

I've done this, but it still won't allow me to connect other devices to the tethered hot spot?

Have you tried giving our mobile team a call on 789 for further advice?
