Unable activate SIM mobile phone

Hi,

I've followed the steps here https://www.virginmedia.com/help/activate-a-sim in order to activate the SIM. However, it's been more than 24h and the SIM status on my mobile phone still says

"Mobile network state: no service. The selected network (Virgin) it's not available".

I've tried to reboot my phone, looked at the help section the virgin website and at this forum but found nothing that could help me. Could you please advise on how to fix this?

The phone is a moto G4 plus.

I am sorry to hear that you have had some issues with your mobile services. 

 

Is the handset unlocked so that It can use any sim card?

Hi Zack,

Thank you for your swift response.

I can confirm that the handset is unlocked. Just in case I've tried with another unlocked handset ( iphone eight )and the issue persisted. It might have to do that I received the SIM cards a while ago but never activated back then. If there is a sort of expiry date this might be the reason, but I'm not sure on how to proceed.

Please let me know what should I do or any further details you might need.

Can you please confirm for me when you received the SIM Cards?

 

They have to be activated within 30 days of receiving.
